Due to the onset of the Coronavirus, we have been forced to cancel our production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel planned for July. We are pleased to be able to report, however, that the production has now been rescheduled for three weekends next July.
In preparation for our eventual re-opening in 2021 we recently surveyed our audience. Click for the Survey Results. Click for the Musicals Survey Results.

Drive-Thru Drama is a social-distance theater format that brings people together for live theater from the comfort of their own cars. Actors will perform one cohesive story through short solos, each approximately two minutes, across the MCC parking lot. Audience members will simply roll down their windows and drive the route from actor to actor.

The Alden presents the debut performance of Small Change, written and directed by Andrew Scott Zimmer, a new work commissioned by The Alden.

Small Change follows the travels of a $1 bill as it journeys through time and space, interacting with different lives, and leaving its mark on the world.

Information about auditions is now available on the MCC website. Priority casting is for those who live in, work in or go to school in the MCC Tax District. Anyone can audition.

In Memoriam: Robert Ames Alden

MCP and its predecessors have produced 120 shows at the Alden Theatre in the McLean Community Center. The theater was an idea of Bob Alden, who helped get the Community Center started.

From the McLean Community Center:
[The] "theatre was named for Mr. Alden, and not for the usual reasons buildings are named for people. He didn't make a big donation in exchange for the naming rights; he made a big difference. If it weren't for Mr. Alden, there would be no McLean Community Center and no Alden Theatre..." And no McLean Community Players, we must add.

MCP (and its predecessors -- CAST, GFP, and MTA) has been entertaining the community since 1964. MCP is a not-for-profit charitable and educational organization, administered under the provisions of section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code. All donations are fully tax deductible. Our Tax ID is 54-1653184.
MCP is a member of the McLean Chamber of Commerce.

We welcome new members, of course, especially those who enjoy working behind the scenes. We are also always looking for suggestions for good shows and we always need volunteers

On this website you may register to get automatic email in advance of all auditions and shows. Performances are at the Alden Theatre: 1234 Ingleside Ave, McLean, VA 22101 . Read all about how you can become a Patron of the Players
